Book the Community Room
The Community Room has recently opened,
after five years of fund raising by the Friends of St George's Church.
It offers a bright airy meeting room with comfortable seating for up to

one of which is accessible for wheel chair users, and a small but well
equipped kitchen which may be used by hirers at no extra cost.
The room is available for
regular club activities, occasional meetings, children's parties and other
celebrations. There will be limited parking spaces on
site and the village car park is approximately 200 yards away.
The use of the building is permitted between
9.30am and 10.00pm on Mondays to Saturdays and between 9.30am and 5.00pm
on Sundays and Public Holidays. Sunday bookings will only be taken when
the church is not in use.
Basin Residents: 9.30am

evenings £10.00 per hour
9.30am - 6.00pm £10.00 per hour, evenings £12.50 per hour
Commercial lettings: anytime £15.00 per hour

The building can be used by church and community
groups and by individuals for private functions.
Where a booking is made by a group or organisation, one
person must be named as the responsible hirer. Hirers must be aged 18 or
over. In accepting a booking no discrimination will be made based on
sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender or religion.
outside individuals will always be considered but priority will be given
to groups and individuals from within the community of Heybridge Basin.
The use of the building is permitted only between
09:30 hours and 22:00 hours on Mondays to Saturdays and between 09:30
hours and 17:00 hours on Sundays and Public Holidays
A booking may be refused if in the reasonable
opinion of the committee the event
Is illegal or
promoting an activity that is illegal
Is likely to bring
the good name of the Church or of the Friends of St George’s into
Is likely to disrupt
the neighbours, especially in regard to noise
The hirer shall be responsible for
obtaining any local authority or other licences necessary in connection
with the booking.
The hirer shall be responsible for the observation
of all regulations affecting the building imposed by the Licensing
Justices, Fire Authority and the Local Authority.
Alcohol cannot be
sold in the building. The hirer is not permitted to apply for occasional
licences for the sale of intoxicating liquor in the building.
